Northern Mariana Islands
The United States declared the trusteeship no longer in effect on November 3, 1986 (Proclamation 5564), when US citizenship and the remaining covenant provisions took effect. The UN Security Council ended it on December 22, 1990 (Resolution 683).
Capital Saipan. Constitution in force, January 9, 1978.
Militia. No National Guard. Residents may serve in the Guam National Guard. Title 32 would have to change to create one.
